the energy I need to face my work; the diligence I need to do it well; the self
discipline which will make me work just as hard, even if there be none to see, and
none to praise me and none to blame; the self respect which will not stoop to produce
anything which is less than the best; the courtesy and the considerateness which
will make me easy to live with and easy to work with. Help me so to live today that
I may make this world a happier place wherever I may be. Help me, all through this
day, to be a comfort to the sad, a friend to the lonely, an encouragement to the
disheartened, a help to those in need. This I ask you for the sake of your love
for me. Amen
I thank you that this morning I am able to rise and move and walk, and see and hear,
and think with my mind, and work with my hands, As I think of the health which I
enjoy, I remember those who are blind and deaf, lame and helpless and bedridden,
those who have lost their reason and whose minds are darkened and whose senses are
gone. I remember those who long to work but who are unemployed, whose talents and
gifts and skills are wasting in an idleness which they hate. Help me, O God, today
to live in such a way that I may show my gratitude for all the gifts and blessings
you have given me by making a full and proper use of them. This I ask you for the
sake of your love for me. Amen
I have come into the quietness and stillness of your presence to begin the day,
so that out of this moment I may take with me a quiet serenity which will last me
through the rough and tumble of this day's life. I have come to find wisdom, so
that today I may not make any foolish mistakes, that I may know when to speak and
when to keep silent, when to act and when to refrain from action. I have come to
find peace, so that nothing may worry or upset me all through today. I have come
to find courage to be patient, not to give up hope when hopes are long in coming
true, to accept disappointment without bitterness and delay without complaint. I
have come to find love so that all through today nothing may make me bitter or unforgiving
or unkind. I have come to begin the day with you, so that I may be able to continue
it and end it with you, so that it will be a day which will have in it nothing to
regret. This I ask you for the sake of your love for me. Amen.
Give me, O God, for this day and for everyday, a will that is strong and steady.
Help me not to give up easily, but to stick at things until I succeed in doing them;
not to be so easily annoyed with people or things that go wrong, but to keep calm,
and to take things as they come, not to be so easily led, but to be able to stand
alone, and, if necessary, to say No and to keep on saying No to what, according
to my deepest convictions, is not right; not to lose interest so quickly, but to
concertrate on anything I do and to finish everything I begin; give me a will strong
enough always to choose the right and never to be persuaded to anything that is
wrong, to be always true to my conscience even if I am laughed at for my convictions.
This I ask you for the sake of your love for me. Amen
Give me, O God, for today a sense of responsibility to myself, so that I may never
waste the gifts you have given to me; a sense of responsibility to my parents and
those who hold their place for me, so that I may do something to try to repay them
for all the love and concern they have for me; a sense of responsibility to my teachers,
so that all their patient teaching of me may not go for nothing; a sense of responsibility
to my friends and to those who rely upon me so that I may never disappoint them;
a sense of responsibility to the world, so that I may put into life more than I
get out of it; so that the world may be a better place to live in when the time
comes for me to leave it. Help me to appreciate what I have received, and to use
it and so, to make what I ought out of this life and these talents, which you have
given me with so much expectation. This I ask for the sake of the love you bear
me. Amen
God my Father, help me to remember that you are always with me. Help me to do nothing
which would grieve you to see, and nothing which I would be ashamed to think that
you should see me doing. When I am tempted, help me always to ask you for strength
to do the right thing and to resist the wrong thing. When I don't know what to do,
help me to turn to you and ask you for your guidance. When I am frightened and lonely,
help me to feel that you are there, and to know that with you I don't ever need
to be afraid. Help me to go through life with you as my Friend and my Companion
all the time. This I ask you for the sake of your love for me. Amen
- The Bells of St. Mary's ring out far and wide.
Their chimes make our childhood so happy and bright.
They welcome us children to work and to play.
They call us to duty, they call us to pray.
Chorus: O Bells of St. Mary's we hear you repeating
The dear song of gladness, of sweet memories.
You tell us of striving, of frank and fair dealing.
You sing to us of truth and love and victory.
- In the School of St. Mary's we spend happy times.
We learn the fine arts and true meaning of life.
In the Church of St. Mary's we find comfort and light.
To fight the good fight and to do what is right.
Our Father in heaven,
Holy be your name,
Your Kingdom come,
Your will be done,
Upon the earth as in heaven,
Give us today, our daily bread,
Forgive us our sins,
As we forgive those who sin against us,
Do not bring us to the test,
But deliver us from all evil. Amen.
Praise Him in His sanctuary,
Praise Him in the skies above,
Praise Him for the acts of power that he does,
Praise Him for surpassing greatness,
With the trumpet, harp and lyre,
With the tambourine and dancing,
Praise Him now.
Ch. Come and Praise Him, for the Lord is good,
And His mercy's everlasting.
Praise Him with the clashing cymbals,
Let them hear it far and near,
With the strings and flute we'll,
Praise the Lord our God,
Who with majesty is reigning, He has power over all,
Give Him glory and be thankful for His love.
Ch. Great Indeed are your works O Lord now and evermore. (2)
- The universe night and day,
Tells of all your wonders,
You are our life and our light,
We shall praise you always.
- You lead us all by your hands,
to the heavenly kingdom,
Then at end of all time,
You will come in glory.
- Lead Kindly Light, amidst the encircling gloom,
Lead Thou me on.
The night is dark and I am far from home,
Lead thou me on.
Keep thou my feet, I do not ask to see,
The distant scene, one step enough for me.
I was not ever, thus, nor prayed that thou,
Shouldst lead me on.
I loved to choose and see my path but now.
Lead thou me on.
I loved the garish day and spite of fears
pride ruled my will. Remember not past years.
So long thy power hath blessed me,
Sure it still, will lead me on.
O'er moor and fen O'er crag and torrent till,
the night is gone.
And with the morn those angel faces smile,
Which I have loved long since and lost a while.
(Chorus)
- I, the Lord of snow and rain, I have borne
my people's pain
I have wept for love of them, they turn away.
I will break their hearts of stone.
Give them hearts for love alone.
I will speak my words to them, Whom shall I send?
(Chorus)
- . I, the Lord of wind and flame,
I will tend the poor and lame,
I will set a feast for them, my hand will save.
Finest bread I will provide
Till their hearts be satisfied.
I will give my life to them. Whom shall I send?
(Cfiorus)
- Chorus:
Father here we come, to worship and adore you,
Father here we are, to praise and glorify you.
1. With joy our hearts we bring
With love our song we sing,
We come to you praise
We stand you are our praise.
- To you we lift our voice,
in you Lord we rejoice,
we want to sing you thanks,
and live with your grace.
Chorus:
Bind us together, Lord, bind us together
With cords that cannot be broken.
Bind us together, Lord (2)
Bind us together in Love
- There is only one God, There is only one king,
There is only one Body, That is why we sing.
- That, as one, we might rise.
So we are but one people, that is why........
Ref. : I have come to thee to take thy touch before I begin my day
- Let thy eye rest upon my eyes for a while.
- Let me take to my work the assurance of thy comradeship, my friend.
- Fill my mind with thy music to last through the desert of noise.
- Let thy love's sunshine kiss the peaks of my thoughts and linger in my life's valley
where the harvest ripens.
